Guest Reviews

"Amazing place to relax and enjoy the scenery"

  • We were greeted by the most wonderful people you could ever meet. The accommodations were amazing. We had fresh doughnuts and coffee waiting for us a nice treat. All you could want and need for a great relaxing stay. The beds were so comfortable, and plenty to choose from. We truly felt it was a home away from home. Waking up to have coffee on the porch and watching the sunrise over the mountain in the distance, was a daily thing for us. Washer and dryer, full kitchen with everything you could need to cook a fine dinner. I highly recommend this placeSight seeing was so easy to do, its not far from anything you could want to do.The owners Mr. & Mrs Baird put a lot of love into there place and it was a joy staying there.

"Wonderful! Restful! Beautiful!"

  • I found this Gem after searching for hours. Was looking for a complete R & R experience and this place delivered! The setting can't be beat. We had great weather and enjoyed the specious pool daily and the animals. The grounds are well kept and the owners were always available for anything we needed. I have to say that Farmer Paul added to our experience. Will be back!

"Beautiful relaxing family getaway"

  • We stayed at the farmhouse for 3 nights over Columbus Day weekend. The house was big enough for me, my wife and three teenage daughters. It was such a unique experience being on a farm with all the animals. The covered bridge on the way there was beautiful. The foliage was spectacular and the owners really made us feel welcome. Highly recommended!!!

"Relaxing Farm Experience"

  • As a family with young children, this setting was the perfect place to unwind & unplug for a few days! The kids loved the animals (pygmy goats, rabbit, donkey, horse, chickens...) and a screened in barn stocked with toys, books & games. The in-ground pool was huge and very clean and the diving board was a big bonus. I really loved how calm and quiet the whole property was and how interesting it was to explore property. The bunk house kitchen was completely stocked with all the pots & pans and spices needed for cooking and a dishwasher and laundry was a luxury as well. The owners left us butter & english muffins, juice, bananas, ice cream... it was really thoughtful. They were very kind and helpful, thoughtful and easy to chat with. We felt very welcome. I would definitely return and have already suggested it to friends. The town and surrounding area had some decent playgrounds and icecream shops but was pretty quiet otherwise. There was a Shaws within a few miles. Loved it!

"You come as a stranger and leave as a friend"

  • We have spent 10 wonderful days in the Bunk House. We had such a worm welcome by Cathryn and Paul like we never had before when we rented a house. They already filled the fridge, gave us a lot of information what to do around Newport and even picked my husband up after a veeery long hike - thanks again for that!

"It was gorgeous on Freewill Farm"

  • Not too far to visit Boston and the White Mountains. Near by Lake Sunapee and Winnipesaukee and also nice places for shopping. The cottages have everything you need for a great holiday! We definitely would like to come back to visit this great place and our lovely hosts.

"Great get-away not far from Boston!"

  • I had a wonderful time staying in the Elm Cottage. It was a such a great get-away from busy city life. The grounds are gorgeous, the house is perfect - everything you need, the pool was refreshing on a hot day and my dog was in heaven. I spent a lot of time on the back porch relaxing and playing guitar while the pup roamed the grounds. The hosts are wonderful, kind and helpful. And the price just can't be beat. This is a great vacation spot for a family with small kids (animals!) or for a couple just wanting to get a break (that was us). I highly recommend a stay here!

"The perfect engagement vacation!"

  • Freewill farm was a great place! My fiance and I were looking for a cozy spot to slow down during a busy summer. There was plenty to do including hiking, kayaking sunapee lake, exploring Newport, walking the farm, sitting on the back porch enjoying the landscape, or slowing down to lounge at the pool. I booked a hot air balloon ride and used the opportunity to propose...she said yes! Paul was in on it the whole time and kept it secret. Paul and Cathryn were gracious hosts and helped us discover a variety of activities in the area. The cottage had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed grilling every night and having the dishwasher for clean up! Our dog enjoyed the company of the three dogs, and became part of the pack by the end of the week.Overall we were very happy with our stay and can't wait to plan our next trip to Freewill Farm!

"A Magical place to holiday"

  • This is the second time we have stayed at Freewill farm and we loved it even more. If you like to hear the sound of the rooster in the morning or the ducks quacking as they waddle passed the bedroom windows a little later then you will love this place. But that was only the start for us. The swimming pool, equipment in the cottage, everything was made available to ensure we had a carefree holiday plus the magic of the New Hampshire scenery - pictures can't do it justice.Paul and Cathryn have made us feel very much at home and we will definitely be back there next year.

"Our wonderful vacation"

  • We stayed in the Elm View and had a wonderful time. Everything was supplied including the washing powder for the machine. We had a great time. My husband would sit out on the deck and watch the wildlife and the chickens. Paul and Cathryn are great people and made our stay a good one.The area is very nice, everywhere we went the people were friendly.
